Today (well, yesterday...I wrote half the post then had to go to the laundry mat because our dryer broke), I braved the office. It's totally overwhelming, totally overflowing, an (along with the garage) totally embarassing.
Let's start with the books. I have a book addiction, and I hate getting rid of them. I was so glad to get a kindle for Christmas...at least my book fetish won't be taking up any more space in my house! Even better, I won't have to move any new books I get...
But that doesn't change the fact that I already have a million books. Four years of college, including a minor in History of Ideas (AKA philosophy and literature had a baby), six years of grad school, coving boh psychology and theology....Just the text books take up a ton of room. Plus I love to read for fun, so I have those books...add in my husband's text books, and we have a bit of a problem.
All of those pictures were taken AFTER I pulled out books to donate. Yes, we have a book problem all up in here.
Today's bin: done. Tomorrow: more books. I'm hoping to get it to the point where I can fit them all on the white bookshelf and the one in the closet. And then when I have an office someday at work, take half of them there. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....
you can! I'm a librarian by trade and I'm living proof that you *can* survive with a love of books and just two bookcases. Remember, you don't have to own everything. You can always pick up a copy at the library, or on your kindle, or on google books. Let the library do the collecting for you!
